LED, as a new-fashioned solid state lighting source, has high light intensity, low power consumption, long life time, high reliability, and is easy to drive and connect to IC. It also has many unique advantages such as nearly no pollution of the product and in the production process; resistance to vibration; easily dimmering from 0 to 100%; operating under safe extra low voltage; continuously operating under the condition of switch-off; having a fixed direction of the light output etc. In recent years, LED’s obvious improvement of luminous efficacy and photometric characteristic let it be shifted from initial indicator light to more commercial applications i.e. transportation, advertisement and instrument display.
Now LED application is developing in a diversified way, continuous improvement of LED devices and attribution and electronic technology provide a good foundation for deepening and improving technology.
